  • AKC Dog Museum Tour and Reception. 7pm. Subject to ECSCA Board and Museum Acquisition Committee approval, there will be a special presentation followed by a wine & cheese reception and tour. Cost is $5. Details will be provided during the National.
  • DNA Sample Collection. DNA samples will be collected on a voluntary basis, as a part of ECSCA participation in the AKC NDA Parent Breed Club Program. An optional "Certificate of DNA Analysis" is available for $10 per certificate. See the December, 1997 article "DNA and the AKC" for further information. Forms will be included in the judging program.

  • Annual Membership Meeting. ECSCA, Inc. General Membership Meeting, to follow breed judging at the National Specialty site. Specific time and location at the host hotel to be announced.
  • Ask the Experts. Wednesday, 8-10pm. This session is intended for breeders/exhibitors to field questions to a moderated panel of breeders, exhibitors and judges experienced in the English Cocker Spaniel. The session will be taped. Moderator: David Flanagan. Panel will include Bonnie Threlfall, John Murphy, Karen Roth & Brent VanMeter. Please contact Terri Burrows if you have questions for this panel of ECS experts.

  • Judge's Education Seminar. Around 7AM, given by Terri Burrows & Mrs. Kay Sutter. Seminar will start about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before BOB judging, so that in addition to the presentation they will be able to view some judging and have ringside mentoring. This seminar is intended for those who are currently judging the breed or preparing to add ECS to their approved breeds.

There are two all breed shows the weekend following the ECSCA National. They are in Alton, Illinois, about 1 hour Northeast of St. Louis on Interstate-55.
